United Employment Group is seeking a Maintenance Tech in Chicago.

Description:

SUMMARY:

  • Reduce machine down-time by following set up preventative maintenance schedule. This schedule is set up by Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure all facility equipment is maintained to the highest level of operation to minimize downtime and improve productivity. Communicate directly with the equipment users to determine their need and respond promptly and professionally.
  • Know and demonstrate by example all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and share all relevant information.
  • Work as a team member with production and tooling to make process improvements that will improve productivity.
  • Exercise initiative when providing technical support on call-out situations.
  • Establish and maintain a harmonious and effective work relationship and influence an attitude of teamwork.
  • Demonstrate and lead by example all Commercial Plastics Co. policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all training initiatives as required.
  • Always work in a safe manner that is consistent with our Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with major projects such as facility modifications, machine installations etc.
  • Assure quality and accuracy of work performed is done with a minimum down time.
  • Ensuring the commitment to ongoing training and skills enhancement.
  • Participate in ensuring total facility and manufacturing safety regulations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of computer software programs, OSHA regulations and standards, ISO9000 standards.
  • Ability to read & understand schematics and blueprints; demonstrated knowledge/skill in following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, sheet metal work, process watersystems, solid state controls, PLC, basic HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and automation processes.
  • Troubleshooting skills, basic understanding of business principles, budgets, advance math skills.
  • HS degree (post high school course work, AS degree, or trade school preferred) plus 5+ years relevant experience in a related field (plastics).
