BASIC FUNCTION

  • The basic functions of the Service & Maintenance Technician is to provide excellent customer service to commercial customers with refrigeration troubleshooting, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
  • Service & Maintenance Technicians are also considered sales technicians and are responsible for generating service sales for the company while on the repair site it you see additional service needs.
  • Aid in maximizing the profitability of the company by completing service projects on time and on budget.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • To perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on industrial food service Equipment.
  • To provide service and repair refrigeration on NH3 and Freon systems.
  • Perform inspections on refrigeration on NH3 and Freon systems.
  • To build strong customer relationships and build knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs/expectations.
  • Maintain service equipment, vehicles, and tools in good repair. Ensure they are clean, and in good order.
  • To assist in training less skilled and experienced Technicians.
  • Confer daily with the Idaho District Manager on a daily basis on progress of jobs.
  • Communicate ideas and suggestions regarding improved methods and procedures, which will allow tasks to be more efficiently performed.
  • Identify problems and take immediate action, if appropriate let the Idaho District Manager know of the critical issues that need his attention.
  • Take control of the equipment and parts that arrives on the job site.
  • Make sure all service work is on schedule. Inform the Idaho District Manager or Dispatcher regarding issues that can delay the project and provide suggestions and recommendations.
  • Maintain good image for the company at all times and especially while at the job site.
  • Ensure that the quality of the work is in compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and security of all company assets, i.e., tools, materials, equipment, etc… while transiting to and from job sites, as well as on the job sites.
  • Complete all appropriate reports and inspection forms in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all checklist items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete a final closing inspection and testing from all finished projects.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting daily and weekly reports to the Idaho District Manager.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with the scope of work and specs. Any and all changes from scope of work will have a completed and accurate change order completed and turned into the Service Manager.
  • Provide technical support in the service and maintenance to customers.
  • Check all reports, i.e., time sheets, service tickets, etc… for accuracy and completeness before it goes into the office.
  • Ensure that customer complaints on your performance are quickly addressed and resolved.
  • Assist in the Company’s efforts of promotion and capturing additional markets and services of interest.
  • Recognize when a change of service or additional work is required on a project to meet quality specifications, and ensure the proper paperwork is completed.
  • Meet with any disgruntled customer and tend to their needs and complaints as soon as possible.
  • To ensure routine truck inspections are held daily before driving.
  • Continually solve problems as they arise. Function as a troubleshooter, resolving all potential problem areas before they can have a negative effect on the Company.
  • To make sure latest changes are updated for the job on the work order before going out on the call.
  • Coordinates with the Scheduler or Expeditor for the scheduling of the work.
  • To review the completed work order for accuracy before it goes into billing.
  • Make sure you have the necessary parts, material, and supplies before going on a service call.
  • To ensure your service truck has the correct level of inventory on a weekly basis.
  • To attend meetings called by the Service and Idaho District Manager.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Idaho District Manager.
