Primary Job Functions

On-site service and repair of company supported equipment at various customer locations. Functions may include physical removal and installation of various mechanical or electrical parts and components. Understanding of equipment software, PLC design and control panel functions regarding equipment batching parameters. Understanding of customers batching requirements as it relates to business operations.
Work also includes providing training, instruction and information regarding proper operation, care and maintenance of equipment to customer representatives. Must be able to accurately and clearly convey safety and efficiency protocols for optimal operation.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma with continuing technical education
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with mechanical/electrical repair on large scale industrial equipment and controls specifically related to batching plants.
  • Frequent overnight travel is required.
  • Must have the ability to understand, assemble and operate all company products upon completion of training period.
  • Must have knowledge of Windows and software programming for control applications as it relates to equipment.
  • Must have comprehensive troubleshooting knowledge and be able to effectively use troubleshooting tools.
  • Must be able to read, understand and convey all repair, maintenance and engineering documentation used by the company. Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels of the company.
  • Must have the ability to work against and meet strict deadlines including work related to providing phone instruction for minor repair and maintenance.
  • Must be proficient in English, both verbally and in writing, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees.

Equipment Start-up:

Field Service Technician will provide equipment start-up assistance during the final start-up of the plant. The Field Technician would arrive after all the equipment is located; load cells calibrated, System is wired and motors have been bumped to make sure they are running in the right direction.

Duties Will Include:

  • Final troubleshooting of equipment operation.
  • Assist with information for the mechanics, electricians and operators in adjustments to be made to the equipment allowing the equipment to function correctly.
  • Assist with information to verify the plant control set-up.
  • Explain adjusting procedures and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Train the personnel in the proper operation and adjustments of the control.
  • Train the personnel in operating the control in the manual and automatic mode.
  • Review the parts and service manuals and answer any questions regarding any procedures listed in the manuals
