United Employment Group is seeking a Dispatch Driver Supervisor in North Carolina.


A Dispatcher – Driver Supervisor’s job is to schedule drivers to pick up and deliver loads to customers or vendors. Perform various functions that ensure goods are shipped and delivered within schedule.


Reporting Relationships:
  • The position reports to the Plant Manager
  • The Supervisor will have seven direct reports


Duties and Essential Job Functions:
  • Keep records, monitoring drivers' daily logs for errors or violations and monitoring their working hours and equipment availability
  • Keep tabs on the weather at all drivers' locations to be able to flag potential issues, typically with the aid of numerous computer programs
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact to balance drivers' health and safety with customer requirements
  • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company, combining shipments based on their routes and timeline to minimize how many trucks and drivers are out
  • Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers, and get the necessary documents and permits that drivers will need
  • Responsible for overseeing the shipment and delivery of goods
  • Confirm delivery dates and shipping schedule
  • Setting up delivery routes, and unloading of materials
  • Work directly with Customer Service, Production and the Yard Manager
  • Manage the 3PL drivers
  • Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
  • Manage the Full Truck Load% and the On Time%
  • Develop delivery schedules and drop shipment strategies
  • Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
  • Implement discipline and termination procedures
  • Prepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary
  • Discover new trends and innovations in the fields

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4-6 years of related experience
  • Five years production and or construction management experience


  • Associated degree in transportation or logistics management.
