REPORTS TO: Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, production tooling methods and controls (including environmental).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with process engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
- Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justify various tools
- Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
- Responsible for Set-up electronic database for all Plastic tooling
- Familiar with PC software i.e. excel/word/powerpoint
- Responsible for Tooling Design Records / Maintenance
- Responsible for specification, procurement, and coordination of maintenance and repair of injection mold tooling for several high-volume product lines
- Must have working knowledge of the Core Tools used to support the Quality Management system, including but not limited to, problem solving, product launches, and continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for working with the Engineering and Quality departments to ensure compliance to the change management process; must have working knowledge of product deviation release, technical change process, CTM project.
- Ability to travel when required

Experience, Competencies and Education
An experienced leader with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing field. A decisive individual who possesses a “big picture” perspective and is well versed in systems. Experience and competencies as follows:- Tool design and build experience.
- He/She has several years experience as a toolmaker.
- He/She should be familiar with all forms of tool construction.
- Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to the Board and outside investors.
