Position Summary
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share within an assigned geographic territory for our aluminum extrusion products and solutions. This individual will develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities across key end-use markets including construction, automotive, transportation, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the aluminum extrusion process, alloy capabilities, and fabrication services, combined with a consultative approach to selling custom and standard profiles.Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development- Achieve and exceed assigned annual sales revenue and gross margin targets within the designated territory
- Identify, qualify, and close new customer accounts across target industries including construction, automotive, electronics, and industrial OEMs
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts through regular customer visits, relationship building, and proactive account planning
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan with a focus on pipeline development, market penetration, and competitive displacement
- Coordinate with internal estimating and engineering teams to develop competitive quotes for custom extrusion profiles, secondary fabrication, and value-added services
Technical & Product Expertise
- Serve as the primary technical resource for customers including temper designations, die design considerations, and tolerances per AA and ASTM standards
- Collaborate with customers during the design phase to optimize profiles for manufacturability, weight reduction, and cost efficiency
- Communicate customer requirements clearly to internal engineering, die shop, and production teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance
- Stay current on market trends including sustainability initiatives, lightweighting mandates, and competitive material substitutions
Account Management & Customer Service
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts in the company CRM system (Salesforce or equivalent)
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels, address complaints, and coordinate resolution with quality and operations teams
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and blanket purchase agreements in alignment with company margin guidelines
- Prepare and present regular business reviews to key accounts, highlighting performance metrics, upcoming programs, and growth opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with inside sales, customer service, logistics, and operations to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer communication
- Provide market intelligence and competitive feedback to product management and leadership teams
- Participate in trade shows, industry associations (e.g., AEC, SAE, AAMA), and customer plant tours to strengthen brand presence
- Mentor and support inside sales representatives aligned to the territory
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of B2B outside sales experience, with at least 3 years in the aluminum extrusion, metals distribution, or related industrial manufacturing industry
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas
- Strong technical knowledge of the aluminum extrusion process, alloy and temper designations, die design, and industry finishing options (anodizing, powder coat, fabrication)
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred
- Experience selling into construction, fenestration, transportation, or industrial OEM markets
- Familiarity with extrusion tolerances per Aluminum Association standards and ASTM specifications
- Experience managing accounts with annual spend exceeding $1M
