The Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Ammonia refrigeration systems. Successful candidates will be able to troubleshoot and diagnose system issues and perform necessary installations and repairs on equipment and systems utilizing Ammonia/NH3 refrigerants. A high level of electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills is required. They are responsible for maintaining long-term customer relationships through on-site activities.
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair Ammonia refrigeration systems
- Establish and manage customer relationships.
- Assists customers in answering technical questions on IR systems, and relevant industry issues.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customer and staff.
- Work in partnership with the refrigeration team including parts, service, engineering and construction.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
- Other duties as assigned
- 5 years field experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Union member preferred
- State of Minnesota High Pressure Piping License holder preferred
- Preferred active member in RETA; CIRO Certified, CRST Certified or within path to obtain certification
- Proficient in IIAR standards for inspections, testing, and maintenance as well as startup and commissioning
- Ability to interact effectively with others, both within and outside of the organization.
- Detail-oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
- Ability and willingness to climb ladders, work at high elevations, work in lifts, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Exposed to high noise levels.
- Ability to drive a vehicle to and from the project site – 5 years clean driving record required
- Availability to be on call nights and/or weekends as required.
- Ability and willingness to travel out of state for short periods of time for work.
