Position Summary:
The Sales Representative is responsible for managing existing customer relationships and developing new business opportunities in Northern CA. This role provides technical and sales support to customers across all phases of construction, from specification and design through project execution. They works closely with customers, project stakeholders, and internal leadership to drive product acceptance, proper application, and long-term customer retention.
This position reports to a Regional Manager and requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to varying project and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers within the assigned territory
- Identify, develop, and secure new customer accounts and project opportunities
- Provide technical support, product education, and specification assistance throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with customer sales teams to support project pursuits and new business development
- Research and track upcoming projects to engage architects, engineers, contractors, and concrete producers
- Conduct jobsite visits to support product implementation and address project-specific requirements
- Attend industry trade shows, seminars, and conferences as needed
- Gather and report market intelligence, including competitor activity, project trends, and industry changes
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to customer activity and project tracking
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Understanding of construction industry structure, project phases, and stakeholder roles
- Working knowledge of concrete technology (practical and/or theoretical), gained through engineering, construction management, concrete materials, or related experience
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and consistency
- Proficiency in standard business software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using virtual communication platforms, shared document systems, and CRM tools preferred
Travel Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory for customer meetings and jobsite visits
- Full-time, remote position
- Flexible schedule with a minimum of eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday
- Additional hours may be required based on project and customer demands
- Frequent regional travel with use of virtual communication tools when appropriate
