The Refrigeration Sales Engineer actively utilizes mechanical engineering skills in a team environment to facilitate industrial refrigeration system design, support customer sales, support project management and business development to ensure client satisfaction and profitability.
- Work in conjunction with other Refrigeration Sales Engineers and Account Managers to prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) for all new and or expansion refrigeration systems.
- Create sketches and related design documents to complete the required refrigeration system and accommodate customer expectations.
- Writing and continuous improvement of specifications and standards pertaining to refrigeration including piping, vessels, compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, instrumentation, corrosion protection, and insulation.
- Facilitate design documents by supporting CAD personnel.
- Acts as an SME resource to the Engineering and Design teams.
- Actively participates in industry related organizations.
- Researches new technologies to incorporate into industrial refrigeration applications to help differentiate the company from competitors.
- Researches, develops, and maintains engineering and design tools related to industrial refrigeration.
- Perform complete estimating functions, commercial project buyout and coordination of material/equipment delivery to site.
- Coordinate project delivery requirements with our Atwater, Minnesota operations.
- Work closely with construction resources to assure projects are meeting technical and quality requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent refrigeration systems experience
- Five or more years of experience in the design of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- PE credentials preferred or ability to obtain in a timely manner.
- Experience in all aspects of project requirements including mechanical, electrical, and structural, including application of current codes.
- Strong communication skills including effective public speaking skills and effective managing skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to become familiar various programs and file structure.
- Proficiency in programs like PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel is typically local to MN, WI, SD, ND, and IA with some country wide travel required.
