We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing activities within our plastics facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on problem solving, and a deep understanding of plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can balance production targets with workforce management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Supervise, train, and develop production supervisors, leads, and operators.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs such as throughput, scrap rates, downtime, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering to resolve production issues and improve reliability.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and optimize processes.
- Ensure compliance with EHS (environmental, health, and safety) standards and company policies.
- Assist with resource planning, staffing, and shift scheduling.
- Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure material availability and proper inventory management.
- Contribute to capital project planning and implementation related to production improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming).
- Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
