POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Plant Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, coordinates the efforts of the entire production operation. In this capacity, the Plant Manager prepares and administrates the production budget, oversees the materials investment, and manages the Production staff.ORGANIZATIONAL SUPERVISION, REPORTING AND INTERFACE
Position reports to the General Manager and works directly with the Production Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, the Engineering department, and other associates throughout the company. The Plant Manager will also interface with other associates within the Peterson Manufacturing organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating and directing MPN production activities in the Production areas so that they properly support the corporation’s objectives.
- Overseeing the professional and personal training and development of the organization’s supervisors, by establishing goals and objectives and monitoring their attainment.
- Researching and submitting the request for the purchase of capital equipment needed to support approved projects that are derived from the overall corporate business plan.
- Using forecast data to establish/monitor MPN production plan and capacity planning activities and making modifications to these plans based on actual sales, when possible.
- Monitoring the organization’s inventories against the business plan and assisting in the establishment of inventory policies.
- Monitor for ergonomic issues and alert Manufacturing Engineering when ergonomic issues are present to reduce repetitive motion injuries.
- Work to minimize paperwork required for inventory transactions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent.
- 8 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in all production areas and a thorough understanding of injection molding, tooling, and automation.
ENVIRONMENT
- Duties are performed indoors throughout the general production and office areas.
- The employee must be able to move throughout the production floor to required workstations and/or across the corporate campus.
- The employee will frequently operate a computer or other office equipment.
- The employee will frequently access other levels of the building.
- The employee will frequently communicate with others (internal or external) for various production needs and must be able to exchange accurate information.
- The employee must occasionally be able to travel via airplane for overseas travel, when required.
- The employee must be able to obtain necessary requirements for travel out of the United States (i.e. passport).
- The employee will occasionally need to inspect/repair equipment as the employee feels it necessary.
