Overview
A leading construction supply company is seeking a Paving Estimator to join our growing paving division. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for concrete paving projects, performing take-offs from drawings, and ensuring schedules and customer requirements are met. The position requires strong communication with customers, engineers, and internal teams, as well as careful tracking of bids and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate estimates of concrete paving material quantities
- Perform take-offs from drawings to determine material requirements
- Confirm quotes, quantities, customer needs, procurement timelines, and delivery schedules
- Communicate professionally with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain a bid calendar and project files for tracking and communication purposes
- Ensure all necessary parties are informed of project schedules and updates
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused with professional demeanor
- Proficient in math, multitasking, and reading technical plans
- Solid technical knowledge of concrete paving materials and methods
- Strong decision-making and attention to detail
- Ability to work under fast-paced, dynamic schedules and meet deadlines
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete paving or related construction fields preferred
- “Get it done” attitude with ability to coordinate with management
