BROAD FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
Increase profitable sales by servicing existing customers and searching for new customers within a specific territory.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
- Develop new accounts in the assigned territory, through cold calling both in person and on the phone
- Establish relationships with both the plants and the customers
- Provide market feedback to the quoting/estimating team
- Handle all customer complaints and pass on the information to Customer Service, the Quality Manager and/or the Operations Manager ensuring clear communication.
- Responsible for servicing existing customers, working with them to ensure that all customer requirements are met by the plant.
- Manage your time well, setting up your schedule so that it is efficient with regard both time and miles being driven.
- Keep updated records of your activity and pipeline
- Must attend all scheduled sales meetings
- Must inspect metal when Quality department is not available to get to the customer
- Frequent travel expected
- Perform other duties as determined by the Sales Manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Marketing/Sales preferred
- Five+ years of experience in extrusion sales or equivalent preferred
KNOWLEDGE:
- General knowledge of the extrusion process and 6000 alloys a plus
OTHER SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, and able to operate independently
- Must be computer literate
- Must have a high degree of drive and ownership
