We are seeking an experienced Molding Manager to oversee all molding operations within our plastics manufacturing facility. The Molding Manager will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of molded parts while leading a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators. This role requires strong technical knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, and materials, as well as proven leadership skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily molding operations to meet production goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Oversee process setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of injection molding equipment.
- Supervise, coach, and develop molding supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Collaborate with engineering and tooling teams to support new mold qualifications and process validations.
- Monitor KPIs including scrap rates, cycle times, downtime, and efficiency, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies and industry regulations.
- Lead root cause analysis for process or quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs for molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Partner with supply chain to ensure proper material flow, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molding operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent technical experience considered.
- 7+ years of injection molding experience with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, automation, and auxiliary systems.
- Hands-on expertise in process setup, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience with scientific molding principles and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
