The Masonry Production Manager is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and high quality block manufacturing operations. This role oversees daily production
performance, equipment reliability, product quality (including ASTM compliance), and team development. The position fosters a high-performing culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while collaborating cross functionally to meet customer and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Execute daily production plans including staffing, scheduling, throughput, and downtime response.
- Ensure availability of production materials and attainment of production goals.
- Monitor and act on key operating metrics: output, cull rate, rework, uptime, labor efficiency, and quality standards.
- Manage maintenance planning for preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects.
- Ensure proper operation, security, and maintenance of equipment to company standards.
- Reduce downtime through reliability practices, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead safety as a core value through daily huddles, field observations, and incident prevention.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility aligned with 3S and housekeeping standards.
- Drive structured problem solving (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Serve as a technical resource for root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, mix designs, and process performance.
- Support design, installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and process upgrades.
- Understand and manage operational drivers of profitability including labor utilization, material usage, cost control, and waste reduction.
- Review key financial reports and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
- Foster a positive, accountable team culture through coaching, recognition, and clear expectations.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operators through training plans, skills progression, and performance feedback.
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, promotions, and corrective actions in alignment with company policies.
- Build bench strength through cross-training and succession planning.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills: coaching, accountability, communication, and team development.
- Working knowledge of concrete masonry/block manufacturing processes with mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Extensive experience with Columbia Machine equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical standards and specifications, including ASTM requirements.
- Data-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong planning and execution capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial literacy and understanding of operational impacts on margin and performance.
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience (15+ years in the industry).
- Proven experience leading manufacturing or production teams with a track record of improving safety, quality, and performance outcomes.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium to heavy physical demands; regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive motion and work around production equipment.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions; frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking.
