We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our plastics manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role requires strong technical and mechanical skills, knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of injection molding machines, extrusion lines, blow molding equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of repairs.
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with ordering replacement parts.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and plant reliability.
- Provide support during plant shutdowns, startups, and emergency breakdowns.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or maintenance certification preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, plastics industry experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with PLCs and basic automation troubleshooting is a plus.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
