Position Overview
A leading brick manufacturer with ten U.S. production facilities is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for plant locations OH and PA. This role works closely with the Plant Manager, supervisors, and production staff to maintain all facility equipment, manage spare parts inventory, and oversee maintenance contractor activities.Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to plant safety, construction, maintenance, and equipment improvement
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and oversee repair of complex robotic, automated, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment
- Optimize equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs across the operation
- Create, maintain, and adjust cost-effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and preserve repair history
- Supervise maintenance employees; promote ongoing training and hands-on skill development
- Retrofit and redesign existing equipment for maximum productivity at reduced cost
- Oversee maintenance of buildings and grounds, using internal staff or outside contractors
- Assist in preparing annual capital expenditure budgets and justification for individual projects, including ROI and payback calculations
- Prepare bid sheets, contracts, and drawings for new construction and capital improvement projects
- Maintain short and long-range engineering and maintenance budgets with departmental cost breakdowns
- Maintain adequate spare parts and materials inventory through proper management and storage
- Establish and enforce pollution control standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; assist in procurement of operating permits
Required Skills & Abilities
- Adaptability with computerized equipment and plant process improvement technologies
- Working knowledge of predictive maintenance and continuous improvement methodologies

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of practical and supervisory experience in maintenance and plant engineering in heavy industry; brick, ceramics, or refractories experience preferred
- Knowledge of PLC and robotics preferred
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance staff, outside contractors, and production personnel at all levels
- Training or experience in: budgeting, quality assurance, heat transfer, instrumentation, fuel consumption control, computerized equipment installation and troubleshooting, equipment design, SPC, and OSHA/environmental compliance
- Hands-on approach to problem-solving; detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement and team development
- Advanced computer skills including Windows, MathCAD, and AutoCAD
