Summary

UEG is seeking a Foundry Metallurgist in the Midwest. This hands-on role supports a foundry operation with metallurgical control, lab testing and casting defect analysis. You would work with Melt, Production and Quality to make sure castings meet customer specifications and to reduce scrap.

Requirements

✅ Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field

✅ 2+ years of metallurgy experience in a foundry or metals manufacturing setting

✅ Knowledge of melt chemistry, heat treatment and microstructure

✅ Experience with spectrometer, tensile and hardness testing and metallography

✅ Ability to troubleshoot casting defects with root cause analysis

Preferred

✅ Ferrous casting experience

✅ Experience with customer specifications and material certifications

Salary: $80K – $100K
