Responsible for promoting, supporting and enforcing the elements of ISO 9001 as they apply to the Extrusions Department.
- Responsible for the timely processing of all Extrusion and Die Department activity
- Improve productivity, quality and consistent performance in the key elements of the extrusion process by establishing recipes through Optalex that organize and apply best practices, ensure press operators are following standards established for consistency of the press performance and optimize press tooling
- Review new shapes in the design phase; work with die shop on details on improving die to run first time
- Sevelop standards for when dies needs to run a set recipe
- Establish the use of lean tools where appropriate to improve the process
- Implement process improvements as necessary to improve press performance and identify process bottlenecks
- Review shapes and dies for productivity improvement
- Must satisfy ISO 9001 requirements as they apply to department
- Monitors and drives quality measures and implement continuous improvement efforts
- Monitor and control costs – labor, supplies, inventory, etc.
- Provide direction to Foreman and Supervisors to control output of the presses through the recipe system.
- Guide, motivate, and discipline direct reports in accordance with company guidelines
- Identify training needs to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities of team
- Establish objectives to improve team performance and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices
- Ensure the consistent use of safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices
- Ensure a safe work environment by observing and coaching employees and addressing potential safety hazards
- Ensure machinery in area is safe and working optimally
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Must have a minimum of 5 years extrusions experience
- Continuous improvement experience is preferred
