Position:
As a Design Engineer, who will report to the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing several facets of tooling and process design and qualification of high-volume medical components including the associated technological and quality systems.Key Goals:
Achieve the system development performance goals (Efficiency, Cost savings and continuous improvement), assigned objectives related to our strategy, as well as working with the NPD and Project Management teams to successfully execute and launch new programs/strategies/systems for each.Responsibilities:
- Design of tooling, work holding fixtures, and inspection fixtures.
- Design of custom-built assembly equipment including semi-automated systems.
- Develop and process Engineering Tests and DOE’s
- Provide input on process development.
- Oversight of internal builds.
- Active PFMEA team member.
- Assist QA in control plan development.
- Assist in PPAP submissions.
Key Attributes:
- Progressive stamping die design a plus.
- 3+ years design experience.
- Toolmaker background preferred.
- Knowledge in metal forming processes including stamping, four-slide, secondary operations, and prototyping.
- Experienced with medical grade materials including, but not limited to, Titanium and Stainless steel in various forms. (Coil, wire…)
- Tooling material and coating selection a plus.
- Proficient with Autocad and/or Solidworks.
- Excellent analytical, technical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Six Sigma green belt a plus.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong scheduling skills to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
