Summary

UEG is seeking a Foundry Metallurgist in the Midwest. This hands-on role leads metallurgical control, lab testing and casting defect analysis for gray and ductile iron production. You would work with Melt, Molding, Quality and customers to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yield.

Requirements

✅ Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

✅ DISA/green sand experience

✅ Strong understanding of gray and ductile iron metallurgy, including inoculation, magnesium treatment and microstructure

✅ Experience with spectrometer, tensile and hardness testing and metallography

✅ Ability to troubleshoot casting defects with root cause analysis and scrap data

Preferred

✅ Iron foundry experience in melt control and lab testing

✅ No-bake and core making experience

Salary: $90K – $130K
