Position Overview
This role leads research and development initiatives focused on advanced mechanical systems and equipment innovation. The position translates early-stage concepts into structured development programs with defined feasibility, validation, and commercialization paths.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead R&D projects involving new product concepts and system improvements
- Translate concepts into technical requirements, development plans, and validation criteria
- Design, build, and test prototypes for feasibility, durability, and performance
- Evaluate manufacturability, cost, and scalability
- Recommend next steps based on technical and commercial findings
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align development with market needs
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies
- Document testing, validation results, and risks
- Support transition into production
- Provide project updates and assist with manufacturing issues
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with ambiguous concepts
- Experience evaluating technical and commercial risk
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
- Effective communicator across teams
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in R&D, product development, or mechanical design
- Experience with fluid systems or mechanical equipment preferred
Technical Skills
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Prototype development and validation testing experience
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing
