We are seeking an experienced Process Technician to support our plastics manufacturing operations. The Process Technician will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting production processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency. This role requires strong technical knowledge of plastics processing methods such as injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding, along with hands-on problem-solving skills to optimize production performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust processing equipment including injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Monitor production processes, ensuring parameters are maintained within established standards.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Conduct material changes, mold setups, and machine startups/shutdowns.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve process-related problems.
- Document process settings, adjustments, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support process validation, trials, and new product launches.
- Assist in training operators and production staff on proper machine operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Follow all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in plastics or manufacturing preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a Process Technician in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding).
- Strong knowledge of plastics materials, processing methods, and equipment operation.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with scientific molding principles and process optimization techniques preferred.
- Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, and process specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
