About the job:

We are looking for a Sr. General Superintendent , in Dallas, Texas. This position is responsible for providing leadership over field operations; directs activities of supervisors and workers concerned with construction of buildings, foundations, sitework, or other construction projects personally or through subordinate supervisors. The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, close coordination with supervisory and management personnel, and evaluation of these crews. Perform support, oversight and coordination functions for and among multiple projects.

Specific Responsibilities:

Achievement of customer service, production, quality, and safety objectives.
Works with Executive Management to establish and achieve strategic goals, objectives and company initiatives.
Works closely with jobsite supervision and project management to:
Manage and meet the job schedules; and
Assist as necessary in development and coordination of manpower, material and equipment schedules. Budget and staff to achieve successful outcomes.
Troubleshoots and resolves constructability concerns with project team.
Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Ensures assembly of organization members (supervisory, project management, engineering, and other workers) to properly perform each project at start of project.
Ensures equipment, tools, and materials are ordered timely to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Confers with supervisory personnel and HR to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
Confers with supervisors, project managers, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Position Requirements:

A minimum of ten years field experience in commercial concrete construction required. A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred. Prior work experience in structural and light commercial concrete required and completed OSHA 30. Successful candidates must display exceptional written and oral communication skills. The incumbent must 1) possess excellent leadership and managerial capabilities, 2) be results driven to achieve Company business objectives, 3) be able to influence and motivate other members of the management team, 4) have the ability to quickly learn the technical aspects of the business, 5) possess the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, and 6) have the ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels of the organization.

In addition, the incumbent must possess:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
A relatively high level of analytical ability is required for project efficiency.
Excellent computer skills required including Microsoft Office and Database software.
Ability to perform in high-stress situations.
Must be able to travel between local jobsites 90% of the time.
