Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing Sack Plant production; ensuring a safe, comfortable, efficient workplace and developing employee skills to produce quality product.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all Sack Plant, Deco rock, and packaging daily functions.
  • Monitors plant expenses, efficiencies, product losses, and ensures that these are kept within budget.
  • Monitors quality of all materials and finished goods.
  • Checks equipment for proper function and operation.
  • Schedules and assists with plant maintenance, procurement and management of maintenance parts inventory.
  • Assigns and schedules work to production employees.
  • Hires and trains personnel.
  • Tracks and reconciles plant raw material and empty bag inventories.
  • All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
  • Attends and/or leads safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
  • Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Five years’ experience in concrete products industry preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic batching systems, drymix mixers, aggregate dryers, and screw conveyor silo systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of sack and associated products is required.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Training and experience are interchangeable on a year to year basis.
  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Able to work extended shifts and Saturdays when necessary.
