Quality Engineer (#8067) - California
Quality Engineer (AS9100) position with a West Coast Aerospace Forger.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review customer purchase orders and associated documents for technical requirements.
Write and update inspection procedures, work instructions and checklists, as applicable.
Participate in definition of test requirements, justification of acceptance limits and sampling plans to assure compliance with requirements.
Provide direction in implementing inspection activities (e.g., receiving, first article, in-process, and final inspection).
Address nonconformities (process and product).
Investigate problems, determine root cause(s), gather and analyze data, and implement corrective action(s) to eliminate causes and their recurrence.
Use charts and statistics to analyze results and prepare reports to present findings.
Coordinate changes to fixed processes internally and obtain customer approval, as applicable.
Ensure that rework is performed to product according to drawing or customer requirements.
Review raw material and outside process certificates to ensure conformance to applicable purchase order specifications.
Review shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
Review and approve certificates of conformance.
Perform other duties as may be requested by the Department Head and/or top management.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing, preferred.
Some college coursework from an accredited institution is desirable.
Two to five (2-5) years of experience in a related field of expertise preferably in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry.
