Large NPCA Producer Seeking Wet Cast Plant Manager

Description:

OBJECTIVE: Manage plant by working closely with Production Supervisors, Scheduling, Quality Control and Maintenance Departments to exceed company expectations for superior customer service by providing high quality products within the requested deadlines. Set and enforce high standards for Precast Concrete operations, ensuring compliance to regulatory and company standards and develop production plans to meet forecasted sales. Create and facilitate continuous improvement of plant processes and systems focusing on opportunities to improve production by using all available resources. Analyze the needs of the facility, equipment, processes and upgrades and implement corrective action plans as necessary. RESPONSIBILITES: • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures. • Assign personnel within the plant to meet production requirements based on incentive efficiency hourly requirements. • Work with Human Resources to build a strong workforce and see that safety, health and housekeeping standards are maintained. • Direct work flows and pouring schedules in plant. • Coordinates with dispatch so that trucks are available when needed to remove product from plant and that product is ready when required. • Coordinate with dispatch and forklift operators to assure that materials are brought into and out of the plant as required. Assure that product is handled in proper fashion to minimize damage. Minimize the amount of time the doors are open in the winter. • Work with purchasing to monitor inventory of raw materials and production goods to meet production needs. • Work with Quality Control to assure that all standards are defined and met. Continue to work jointly on documenting and reducing scrap. • Work with fabrication and maintenance departments to assure all tooling is in good working order while always focusing on improving efficiency of production practices. • Responsible for attaining plant production goals. • Control and minimize labor overtime. • Foster a well-trained and motivated production staff. • In the event of a plant breakdown, incorrectly made product, broken product, or any other uncontrollable mishap, calmly work through the situation to assure the customer is taken care of. Follow up with the situation to assure the issue will not happen again. • Supervise the timely preparation and accurate submittal of all production and labor reports • Select and/or train production supervisors and other supervisory plant personnel. Train your back-up and have a system in place to cover your position when you are unavailable or away. • Conduct employee performance reviews. • Schedule and conduct plant meetings. • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
