We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a Metal Stamping facility located in CA.

Description:

Summary
Maintain, repair, modify and customize production equipment to support the needs of the operation as well as engineering projects.  Electrical and electronic troubleshooting on existing industrial machines and equipment.  Design, build and deploy additions to electrical or electronic functionality of these machines. 

Required Skills
- Excellent electronic troubleshooting skills including PLCs and process controllers.
- Excellent  electrical wiring and controls troubleshooting skills
- General mechanical skills for repair and modification of equipment.
- Work well with engineering and production teams with effective communication both internally and externally to equipment suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on factory equipment including stamping presses, machine tools, cleaning equipment, etc.. within the operation.  Strong troubleshooting skills required.
- Develop new electrical controls and associated hardware to enhance the functionality of equipment (i.e. add sensors and additional control to a automation machine)
- Work closely with production and engineering staff on new equipment installations and controls modifications.
- Initiate and maintain record keeping systems for all machine modification and repairs (separate from existing Maintenance PM Records).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Excellent electronic troubleshooting skills including PLCs and process controllers.
- Excellent  electrical wiring and controls troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on production equipment in a “light” industrial environment.
- General mechanical skills for repair and modification of equipment.
- Work well with engineering and production teams with effective communication both internally and externally to equipment suppliers.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with more than 10 years’ experience, of which a minimum of 3 years in equipment electrical and electronic controls
OR
- Technical diploma or degree in electronics and control with minimum of 3 years’ experience in in equipment electrical and electronic controls.
