Develop detailed design drawings, models and related specifications of mechanical equipment and designs.

Develop detailed design drawings, models and related specifications of mechanical equipment and designs, according to engineering sketches and design proposal specifications for the Mechanical Contracting Division, including refrigeration, HVAC, piping, controls and plumbing systems. May be required to assist other divisions with drafting needs as workloads require.
Produce 2D and 3D CAD/BIM drawings and document sets from sketches, existing drawings, equipment shop drawings and standard details for refrigeration, HVAC, piping, controls and plumbing systems to be estimated, installed, and/ or fabricated.
Produce and update Process System Management (PSM), P&ID and isometric drawings based on project requirements under the direction of a Sr. CAD Designer Systems Manager and Engineers.
Coordinate and consult with others on design, layout and/or detail components and systems to resolve design issues or installation constraints.
Layout and dimensioning of equipment locations, pipe and ductwork routing, and support systems to eliminate interferences with other components, existing systems or other building elements.
Actively participate in internal design coordination meetings.
Participate in external design and coordination meetings under the direction of Sr. CAD Designer, Systems Manager and Engineers. Interface with external design engineers and the customer when required by project scope.
Field measure existing facilities, as needed, and develop drawings for system installations and modifications under the direction of Sr. CAD Designer, Systems Manager and Engineers or Project Manager.
Produce accurate ‘As-Built’ drawings from field mark-ups upon completion of a construction project.
Size piping and ductwork under the direction of a project engineer, when requested.
Utilize established CAD standards, document control, and document approval processes to create concise, correct and coordinated plans.
Review engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards specified by each project/client.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of job.
Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Two year Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or CAD Drafting and Design
Years of experience in building design systems CAD based on reference table below.**
Understanding of Drafting/Design Programs:
Basic to advanced knowledge of drafting programs used by department assigned to within 3 years of most current release based on table below.
Mechanical Contracting-AutoCAD (AutoCAD MEP preferred), Revit, BIM360Glue and Navisworks.
A high level of technical and spatial aptitude.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Efficiently able to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.
Self-motivated and willing to learn and embrace new ideas & technologies.
Ability to work closely with others on a team as well as independently.
Physical ability to access job sites, including some climbing and crawling.Apply for this position.
